It’s 5:30 a.m.
All I can see in the field across the street is the outline of the tops of the trees….
where the light of the new day
is meeting the darkness of the old day
and designing a stark, although beautiful, contrast.
There is a strange clarity in the line
A sharpness in the delineation.
“My eyes have seen your salvation
which you prepared in the sight of all the peoples
a light for revelation to the Gentiles
and glory for your people Israel.” (Luke 2:30-32)
Can I sit patiently in the darkness?
I can see clearly where it ends; I can see clearly the sky filled with new light.
I have been given the gift of hope
for I have seen the sharp tree line which marks the end…
The end of the old darkness and the promise of the new day.
“Now I see only partially….but then face to face” (1Cor 13)
I know His promises are true.
For now let Wisdom mother me.
She asks, “Will you dare to dance while waiting in the unlit field of darkness?”
Dance to the tune she is singing.
Though I may be weeping as I wait,
I have all I need in this Mother.
She shows me love.
And that patience is the first virtue learned in the one who loves.
“Love is patient….” (1 Cor 13)
This is how we wait.
In the strong and silent arms of the wise Mother.
And her Immaculate Heart will triumph!
